Flexible payment in unattended environments for Gitec Control

The Challenge

Gitec needed to find an automatic payment solution to replace their old family of terminals, with minimal integration disruption for their customers. The new solution needed to comply with the current PCI PTS 3.X security standard, ensuring a smooth transition for their customers and also incorporating new operating systems, such as NFC/Contactless, which Gitec did not offer previously. In addition, the payment solution needed to be robust and comply with mandatory environmental and consumption requirements applicable to the unattended/self-service sector for these payment devices.

 

The Solution

After an in-depth review of the different providers and payment solutions available, Gitec chose Verifone. With a firm commitment to the unattended/self-service market, Verifone’s UX Solution is series of flexible and robust electronic payment modules for unattended/self-service payment. The devices included in the UX family can be easily integrated into machines, kiosks, automated teller machines and more, meeting standard physical cut-out dimensions. The determining factors for choosing Verifone, were the design of the NFC/Contactless module (with four blue LED indicators) and shorter certification

times than competitors for the available solutions. Additionally, Verifone’s UX Solutions have a DLL (Dynamic Link Library) developed by Gitec, which enables easy and quick integration with the customer’s application. The DLL is pre-certified so integrators do not have to get further approvals with the Spanish processors.

 

The Results

Gitec recently began the deployment of the UX Solutions with the installation of 350 terminals in a very short time period in 150 different locations throughout Spain. One

benefit of the implementation has been the extension of the UX range, with two new products: The UX 301 and UX 401 giving Gitec the chance to penetrate other sectors

and increase the database of new customers. The physical format and mechanical integration of the UX solutions have allowed Gitec to significantly reduce time to marketand development costs.
